Over the past 20 years, the EU market in food supplements has developed significantly and today there is a high level of recognition of the category by consumers. In addition to the framework for food supplements established by the 2002 Directive, a wide range of food legislation is in place which covers supplements. This includes additives, contaminants, labelling among others.
Food Supplements Europe represents the interests of the European food supplement sector and is organising in Brussels on 18 November “Food Supplements in the EU: Where next?” to address the future direction of the sector.
